Talk about it.... give info, advice, horror stories, whatever. I want to hear what you think about this caliber. Especially for use on California big game. What rounds are good/bad etc.

Let's hear it.

Very satisfied with mine.  Good at long range, good on larger animals.

God has to love us - He gave us blacktails!

I have taken 7 or 8 deer with mine and I love it.  I won it at a banquet.  It's a Win Model 70 topped with a Vari X 2 3-9 Scope.  When I got it they told me to use the trophy Bonded bullets.  Big mistake...the first 2-3 animals I shot, I had to shoot twice.  It was just poking holes.  I switched to Federal Premium 150 grain Nosler Partition and it knocks them in the dirt every time.  Love the flat ballistics and it's a tack driver.
