Good luck.

Went out Saturday evening but didnt see anything. I did let a couple arrows fly at a ground squirrel. Saw three bucks out midday on drive home but all on private land.

that store if its the one on west side of highway , used to belong to that friend of dads   . when that friend was growing up , he and relatives shot all those monster mounts on store walls , if the mounts are still there .

the friend moved to fort bragg in 50s and was mortician then retired back to the family ranch in early 70s . dad and i went there lots

My great grandparents were from modoc co. They eventually moved here (yolo co) and bought the ranch I live on now.

Starting to get gear packed and ready to go. Got word from the old man that he had to put down our old deer dog yesterday. Almost 17 years old. She had a good run of it. Hope to make a kill in her memory this weekend. We'll see what happens

last update unless it gets worse overnight

100 acres , 10 % contained , still road closures and evac

as aircraft dumped loads they were sent back to load AND HOLD , means they ready for a different fire and not returning to this one .

scanner was real quiet so that is good .

but any of you hunters heading up knoxville wildlife area for opener tomorrow FROM THE SOUTH  might need another route

According to the Cal Fire Website the fire is up to 114 acres and is 80% contained as of this morning. It's no longer showing road closures or evacuation orders.

I drew the M-11 hunt last year...see my post.  I told my wife since it took me half my life to draw the tag, I was buying a new gun.  I got the CVA Accura.  It was as billed...the most accurate out of the box you can buy.  I was able to shoot a 3" 4 shot group at 75 yards with open sights.  I shot a nice 5x4 on the second day of the season.  Good luck with your hunt,

Babe
