LASSEN, Calif. - California has had its first confirmed livestock kill by wolves since the gray wolf returned to the state in 2011.

According to officials with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, on October 13 the Lassen Pack of wolves killed a cow on private property in western Lassen County. Data from a GPS tracking device worn by the breeding female of the Lassen Pack confirms the wolf was present at the site for at least six hours on the night the 600-pound yearling heifer was killed.

dad and i happened on a camp site back in late 70s as shots were being fired . could see camp from the road we were on . a big pack of coyotes were attacking the camp as the hunters were cleaning their bucks . with our help shooting at them dogs we were able to scare them away and then helped campers with their bucks . and then they packed up to leave .

wouldnt surprise me wolves attack when they can . dogs around home do , and coyotes in packs do . they all dogs

sometimes i think fish and game are trying to wipe our deer herds out with putting wolves back into this country and less work for them to do, soon and in the near future our kids and grand kids and there kids will be saying we use to have blacktail deer.

Our predecessors sought to eliminate wolves, grizzlies and cougars in the lower 48, and did us one hell of a favor.  Now the panty-wastes, tree huggers, metropolitans, professors and millennials have taken over and damaged (maybe mortally) our heritage and way of life.  In the end, Mother Nature will exact our revenge (lol).

New ideas don't take hold because people become convinced of them, they take hold because the people believing the old stuff die.

Inner city terrorist. I can tell by the black mask. Think he's a member of some radical protester group.

Saw it on the local news.  was smaller than I thought.  Said released at crystal springs.  IF same cat as other sightings he had to travel a lot of city streets to get there.  Amazing no one else would have seen that thing, cuz there are zombies out all nite in that city.  May have seen it but thought was hallucination from all the dope.
