I need to try from home...Not sure if it's a firewall thing here at the office but I have tried to attach photos 4-5 times and keep getting an "Internal Server Error" message.  I will try again this evening.

Pretty sure the office firewall is keeping it from working.  I will try it at home.

Thanks...He wasn't the monster I had hoped for but a nice representative Blacktail.  He weighed right at 100 lbs dressed at the locker.  Above average for a coastal buck the locker owner said.  And the deputy in Willow Creek who validated it said it was a monster.  I had to chuckle.

i keep a 300 lb. scale in my trailer so i can weigh them . have a neighbor camp that uses it at times

they had a 5x7 they wanted to weigh once , was 195 gutted . warden wouldnt count one point though so ended up 5x6 . and they were pissed cause it stuck out almost half an inch and easily held a ring on it .

my monster the year before was 225 gutted

we all get our fun at times

http://azitis1970.com/bevents.htm   for all you smokepole shooters , 2017 rendezvous schedule is up .

even if not a blackpowder shooter they are lots of fun to watch .

only requirement to shoot is traditional cap/ball or flintlock rifle and or pistol .  NO SCOPES OR INLINES , lead round ball only unless otherwise mentioned

The 2 guys I knew who hunted Covelo said it sucked.  I guess the early weather had driven them down to low elevation private property.  They both ended with tag soup.

yea the weather up there can do that when that happens in covelo but if you know where to go like Hams Pass which is lower down you can find a monster !!!!

Congrats on drawing the tag!!! As for scents and rattling and all that stuff, you won't need it like mentioned. I am curious if it would make any kind of difference in that area? I always hunt A zone and during the last week the rut can be on pretty strong. I have tried rattling, bleat cans and esterous scents without luck. I have only seen blacktail bucks in a full out brawl once during the daylight. I have got many fights on camera but it's always during non day light hours. Wish you the best of luck and am looking forward to seeing a pic of you with a monster!!
I hunt cause I love going deep into the bush and I always shoot twice!!

Good luck!  I enjoyed the late season weather.  It rained about an inch on Friday night before the opener and was Sunny on opening day.  Deer were everywhere.  I am impressed with drawing that tag with only 1 point.  It took me 25 years and max points.
