I'm thinking that if you kill a second buck,(higher score or not)your score doesn't change but instead you get put on an "all star" team for your age group and the second bucks score would be counted there... Like a tournament of champions type thing

What you guys think?

Hmmm  Maybe bulls could count for the "2nd buck," also?

I'm guessing Oregon doesn't give a second buck tag?

I knew you couldn't resist bbh...

Maybe the "kiss" method is best here but I will toss it out there anyway...

Buck or doe is first round points, buck or doe or bull (or goat)is second round points, bear is third round points. For those who take all the big game species(over the counter tags in your state only) in one season you make the Allstar team for that year. The two to do it first(one from each team) get to be team captains next year or...?

for you to put bear on the bottom of the list , you are not a hunter , you are a beginner and this will be my last post on your threads

Whatever you grumpy old bastard... These are just ideas and for you to say that, you are clearly missing the point of what I was saying... By killing all the over the counter big game animals in your state, it puts you in a "league of champions" or Allstar team...basically each kill moves you to the next round...no matter the order in which you kill them, it Wont just be a single round contest, but three rounds.
The first being the original buck off, then buck off Round two is your second deer kill or first elk or hog or bear or moose or other otc big game animal, lastly round three (which would put you in an elite group)would be bear or hog or sheep or antelope or moose, whatever your state has as a third over the counter big game animal... Completing all three rounds puts you on an Allstar list or team the first 2 (one from each age group)of which become team captain for next years contest or some other form of recognition.

That would be pretty trick there meatB, I like it. Might be hard to moderate, and even more difficult for some users to really "get in to", with different hunting interests and opportunities being the most limiting factor, BUT all that considered, that style of contest would be a blast! And for the record IF i EVER "grandslam" my oregon sportspac I will feel like a super badass even if theres no contest on here for that :) For the record the sportspac up here includes hunting and fishing licences, buck bear elk cougar and turkey tag, and some bs parking pass, plus probably other stuff I'm forgetting at 10:30pm...

Ya maybe just stick with the blacktail and maybe a bonus round for bear elk hog etc...

(I know it would make bbh happy to have bears count for something...even though he hasn't killed one since Nam)

We'll see what this thread turns into and go from there.

Simple bonus round sounds really good. And maybe BBH will tag a bear, if it takes one to kill one then he's our guy!

It's about time to get this contest up and running for 2017...

Let's try to iron things out here guys.

Who's gonna run the contest this year? (I don't mind doing it again)

Should we go back to "old" rules or stick with the 2016 rules?

Anything to add or subtract from the rules?
