You listen to/read terry knights reports on the lake closures? Here's what I gathered from his report on bob Simms show.

They've closed it to power boats. Bob Simms is telling folks to head up there in kayaks to fish.

The concern lies with the waves created by motor boat traffic damaging homes and property. As well as the bass boat idiot who blew past the board member( one who created the closure) 20yds off shore when the closure was 5mph up to 2500ft from the bank. Now it's closed to all power boat traffic. Could be close to three months before the lake drops enough to allow power boats again.

I hear that the resort launch is open but I'm not planning to go out there with any sort of boat let alone a kayak... I've got my eggs in the sturgeon basket right now. Big boat, big rod, big fish.

When I make a trip up your way to scout turkey I'll let you know bbh. Get that neck roast to you.

park employees were talking to all the parked drivers saying move along

they were walking to me as i was taking pics but i drove away first . didnt take a pic of no parking sign as you drive in .

and if your heading to mendo natl. forest soon , most of the roads up are closed off highway 20 . thats the last report

check their FB or web page and email to ask

walker ridge is closed , bear creek road   is closed , high valley road is closed half way up and bartlett springs is open only to residents

they said deer valley is open but only a mile or so

looks like  BOS voted to open clearlake to boats tuesday eve at their meeting . with restrictions

one comment said he flew over the lake and had lots of debris everywhere including what looked like full size trees and docks that  broke away

took pup for a run at cache creek wildlife area today

about 4th time this year as i dont like hiking in the rain

must have been some high water since last time a month ago cause debris washed up on trees is about 3 feet higher than the last time there . walking next to creek , some debris is 9 feet higher than dirt and 12-15 feet higher than creek is right now . creek is running fast and dirty and lots higher than normal and can see how bad it flooded at certain places .

cant wait till hiking out there is mud free

right now , some of that mud on hiking trail is knee deep and cant tell its that deep till pup pounds thru or tries to go thru .

maybe next run i take him on hill above indian valley . i want to see how full that lake is anyway .

That poor lake is a disgrace compared to 10-15 years ago. Sad that good trout n Kokanee fishery was lost. Hopefully they make an attempt at keeping water in it and maybe even replanting it one day

You would lose that bet.... I'd love to live away from people and noise but there's too much meth in lake county for me to want to move there... I live in ag land. Nearest neighbor is 500yds but there's always Mexicans in the orchards/fields and cars driving by and I can still hear the neighbors bomp-bomp musica so it's not as peaceful as I'd like.
I'm 5min to gas station, 10 minutes to grocery store, 20 minutes to Walmart. Don't need much else.
I'd say your about as close to town/Walmart as I am but for me theres hardly a chance at seeing a buck on my way to town.
