That scar making a diagonal crease through my right eye brow, healed only a couple years now, brings back memories. I guess it adds to the grizzled gray look. Caused by an Elk antler, is absolutely true, but the "rest of the story", is a bit cloudy. If I said, "the wounded bull, in his last throes of agony lashed out in a deadly charge"............NO, I wouldn't even believe that one.

When I got back to the rig, more than just a little disgusted at not seeing any game, I figured oh well, might as well decorate the truck. The antler I found wasn't much, just a spike trying to be a fork, but it would always remind me of that pile of bones, that big thigh bone bitten in half! Have you ever done somethng stupid, and even as you did it, common sense said STOP! But you did it anyway-HERE'S YOUR SIGN. As I pulled the rubber snubber tight, to hold the antler in place it slipped. The antler gouged an inch long wound just above my eye, and you should have seen the blood trail. As I slunk back to town, holding direct pressure (first aid class #1) all I could do was hope I wouldn't run into one of the good old boys who wanted to chat. blush.gif

I can't help but chuckle. I'm glad you found humor in it, and perhaps a lesson for the rest of us.
